Lou Abbott: Home
Welcome to Lou Abbott's website!
All my love to Paola and our family around the world.
I update regularly and would appreciate hearing from you.
Check out my calendar for upcoming events and a special welcome to my students at Barry University and Broward College!
I am with Dale Powers, Johnny O. and Matt Bonelli every week in the Council Oak Lounge. There are also special guests frequently like Jesse Jones, Billy Ross, John Mikalak, Brian Murphy, Pete Wallace, Mark Marineau, John Amoroso and Howard Levy.
You might also see some band members from the headline acts sit in like Paul Langosh, Tony Bennet's bass player and Clarence Clemons drops in regularly. Rod Stewart's guys came by a few weekends ago and Johnny's friends from Philly dropped by on tour with the O'Jays and Stylistics.
Seen in the club: Shak, OJ, Don King, Jimmy Pankow, Dennis Rodman and Jason Taylor. It is always an event when the Seminole C.E.O, Jim Allen, drops by and sings with the band. Drinks all around!
Directions: Enter the front of the Casino by the Valet, make an immediate right and we are at the first curve. If you see an outfit of Prince's on the wall or get to the Food Court area, you went too far. The Council Oak Lounge precedes the Council Oak restaurant.
I recently released a Blues/Swing Dance CD called "Big Beat Blues" with Piano Bob's 88s. This CD is catching on with Swing Dancers on the East Coast and Europe. Please leave a message if you are visiting from one of the Swing clubs.
You can listen to and purchase it at:
or just click on "CD Baby" in the Links section of this webpage.
We also are featuring some video of a concert in Hollywood on YouTube. Check the "Links" section to find it.
The "Music" portion of this website is not functioning, so I recommend that you check out the CDBaby site to hear some examples.
Some other recordings to check out:
I am playing percussion on Susan Werner's first record and she was kind enough to call me an "arranger" as well.
I am playing drums on two of Heath Allen's recordings: "Post Hip" and "Song of the Griot."
Here is a picture of Matt and I recently performing with David Amram at Tobacco Road in Miami.
